They re-released the three aforementioned games along with the rest of their familiar "black case" games in order to avoid paying any fees to Nintendo.Īs for the Namco games, I'm not sure at all how the coding worked, but I do love the Tengen version, so it wouldn't be surprising if Namco was inferior, especially if completely reworked as Mike said. They released RBI Baseball, Gauntlet and Pac Man with the standard "NES seal of approval" which only meant they paid the licensing fee to Nintendo, and they used the standard gray NES cart.Īfter this, however, Tengen discovered the secrets of the lockout chip and basically told Nintendo to go screw themselves as most are familiar with. Tengen started off its relationship with Nintendo as a licensed company, same as Konami, Acclaim and so on. You will easily be able to tell when one has come onto the screen from the noise that they make.My guess is that they still had the license to do so from the Atari console days.Tengen was a Atari subsidiary (basically the name they used to make games for the NES and Genesis).Īctually, that's sort of true. The fruit will come bouncing into the stage from one of the wrap-around portals. Pick up all kinds of fruit (and a pretzel) for lots of extra points. Just pick the setting you prefer in the Options menu. You can turn it on and off by pressing A or B, or have it always on or always off. All of them will have completely different looks, but be careful in the Strange ones because some places may look like you can fit through but you can't! Also a cool option in this version, you can speed Ms. Also, you can choose from several maze sets, including Arcade, Big, Mini, and Strange (my favorite!). Pac-Man has difficulty settings ranging from Easy, which is pretty easy, to Crazy, which is exactly that. You can easily run into a ghost who is on the other side. Use the wrap-around holes in the sides of the maze to move from one side to the opposite side in a flash, but watch out. When the Power Pellet is about to wear off, the ghosts will begin to flash white. Quick! While they're like that eat as many as you can for extra points! When you've eaten one it will turn into just eye-balls that run around the screen until they make it back into the center box, where it will turn back into whichever ghost it originally was. Their expressions also change to white simplified squiggles. When you eat a Power Pellet the ghosts will all change from their normal differing colors to a bright blue. Just be careful that you don't get eaten by a ghost yourself! Turn the tables on the ghosts by grabbing a Power Pellet, which is larger than the rest. Pac-Man around all kinds of different mazes, eating all of the little dots. This is definitely one of my favorite games and it is very addictive! Directions: The noises and music are just what you'd expect them to be for a Pac-Man game. The stages are colorful and have strange and unique designs that are different from what you might be used to. This is one of the most awesome looking Pac-Man games around, with several different kinds of mazes, and you get to choose which you want to play! It also has the great cut scenes every few levels that we all love. Great graphics and sound make this an excellent choice in the Pac-Man line. Pac-Man wakka-wakkas around the maze eating dots and dodging ghosts, or chasing the ghosts when she eats a Power Pellet. Another great update of the Pac-Man series.

The grannies theme comes and goes as Bluey and Bingo move in and out of their fantasy world, and returns in a later episode where the girls play the game again. Instead, Bluey uses music to advance story, place and character. Throughout the series, Bush’s music isn’t simply used as colour. The Grannies theme works in short sharp bursts throughout the episode, similar to American sitcom soundtracks - like the quirky wonderfulness David Schwartz brought to Arrested Development (2003-19) - and the unusual (and funny) tempo and instrument combinations used by Ronny Hazelhurst BBC comedies like Some Mothers Do ‘Ave 'Em (1973-78) and The Two Ronnies (1971-87). The music is catchy, but also cheeky and a bit naughty, setting up the episode to sound more like a mainstream sitcom than a children’s show. With Bush’s character theme for the girls’ dress ups, the episode becomes something more than a story of play and distraction. In an early episode, Grannies, Bluey and Bingo dress up as grannies “Rita” and “Janet” to keep themselves amused while their parents complete household chores. After “Mum!, Dad! Bingo! Bluey!” come new calls, like “violins!” and “trumpet!”. The new soundtrack album features three versions of the show’s opening theme tune, including an extended version and an instrument parade, adding a list of instruments for listeners to respond to. TV's top ten ear worms, from a television tragic The melody dances up and down the scale as the show’s characters dance on screen, punctuated with the delightful roll call of names and the show’s title. The theme instantly indicates something childlike with the melodica, an instrument second only to the recorder in the way it recalls primary school music rooms. Bush’s musical economy is brilliant, immediately setting the mood for the show. 401 Park Ave S: 401 Park Ave South 10th Floor, New York, NY 10016.428 Broadway: 428 Broadway New York, NY 10013.85 Broad Street: 85 Broad St New York, NY 10004.261 Madison Ave: 261 Madison Ave New York, NY 10016.11 Park Place: 11 Park Place New York, NY 10007.175 Varick St: 175 Varick St New York, NY 10014.115 Broadway: 115 Broadway St 5th Floor, New York, NY 10006.South Williamsburg: 109 S 5th St Brooklyn, NY 11249.27-01 Queens Plaza N: 27-01 Queens Plaza North Long Island City, NY 11101.One Gotham Center: 28-07 Jackson Ave Long Island City, NY 11101.Dock 72 at the Brooklyn Navy Yard: 63 Flushing Ave Brooklyn, NY 11205.21 Penn Plaza: 21 Pennsylvania Plaza New York, NY 10001.460 Park Ave S: 460 Park Ave South New York, NY 10016.609 Greenwich Street: 609 Greenwich St New York, NY 10014.408 Broadway: 408 Broadway New York, NY 10013.750 Lexington Avenue: 750 Lexington Ave New York, NY 10022. The questions in the Fibbage games, for example, involve actual facts - the developers have to do research in order to write questions, answers and "lie" answers, and then categorize the questions under fields such as "Johnny Depp" and "middle school." It's a complicated, cumbersome process that most players aren't likely to bother with.ĭrawful "questions," on the other hand, are simply words or phrases. Niekamp told Polygon that players of Jackbox's games have long requested the ability to make custom content, but he and Evan Jacover, Jackbox's vice president of engineering, both explained that Drawful is uniquely suited to the feature. "it'd be difficult to make a Drawful prompt that doesn't work at all" "Because when you're playing Drawful, you're like, 'Well, someone put in a funny joke about Brad, this guy we're playing with, but that's not going to be the right answer.' But now it could be! Because you could've put in some dumb joke about your friend." "And so kind of gets us closer to that," Niekamp continued. The "ethos" of Drawful is to make it possible for "any crazy thing that any of the players in the room put in" to be the right answer, said Drawful 2 director Arnie Niekamp in a phone interview. That's why giving players the ability to write their own prompts is so meaningful in a game like Drawful. So while your answer might make everyone in the room laugh because it makes fun of that teacher you all hated in high school, anybody who actually wants to win the game won't pick it. Points are awarded to the players who guess correctly, as well as to the writers of wrong answers that people select instead. Finally, the game presents each drawing and every user-submitted answer for it - along with the right answer - and the players have to guess the original prompt. Then the game shows each person's drawings to all the other players, who have to write down what they think the drawing is supposed to be. Three to eight players are each presented with a word or phrase, and they have to sketch a drawing of that concept on their smartphone or tablet. In case you haven't played the original Drawful, here's how it works. If the phrase "user-generated content" turns you off because it makes you think of creating LittleBigPlanet levels, fret not: If you understand how Drawful works, you can write Drawful questions. For a company whose games can be played by anyone with a smartphone, it's not surprising that the feature in Drawful 2 is designed with ease of use in mind. It's the first time Jackbox has supported user-generated content in one of its games, and to hear the studio tell it, Drawful was the perfect title in which Jackbox could experiment with this feature. Jackbox Games is capitalizing on that in Drawful 2, the sequel to the studio's 2014 drawing game, with a big new feature: the ability to write your own prompts. Party games are best played with people you know, gathered together in a room, where everything can take on a deeper, funnier meaning because of your shared experiences. Without these steps a previously paired Audioserver cannot be paired with another Miniserver! Now the Audioserver is ready to be paired again. Alternatively, you can reset the Audioserver to the factory settings via the web interface. If this is not (or no longer) possible, reset the Audioserver to factory settings by formatting an SD card for the Audioserver in Loxone Config and then inserting it. Then save the program into the Miniserver. Connect to the Miniserver and delete the Audioserver from the programming. If the Audioserver was previously paired with a Miniserver and is now to be used in another installation, the pairing must first be released. Now the added devices are ready for use and available in the Periphery Tree in Loxone Config. To apply the changes, save the program in the Miniserver. By clicking on the button with the arrow pointing right, the old device is replaced with the new one in the program. Select the device to be added and the device to be replaced. This is useful when a device needs to be replaced or devices are added to a pre-configured program. You can also replace an existing device with a new device of the same type that was found in the search. You can display them by clicking the button Show my Devices. The right window lists all the devices that are currently part of the program. Then, select a name, room and installation location for the highlighted Audioserver and add it to the programming using the Pair Device or + button. This can also be done via the Audioserver's web interface. Select the desired Audioserver and click on Configure Device to assign a static IP address to the Audioserver. This allows you to easily identify and name the devices. When highlighting one of the devices, it will identify by flashing its status LED or optionally also by an audible signal through the connected speakers. The window that opens will list all Audioservers that are ready for pairing. To search for Audioservers, first click on Audio in the Periphery tree of Loxone Config, and then on Audioserver Search in the menu bar If this is not the case, reset the Audioserver to factory settings. Pairing mode is indicated by the status LED flashing red/green/orange. Once the Audioserver is operational and connected to the network, it can be paired with the Miniserver in Loxone Config. Then follow the instructions for pairing with the Miniserver. This is indicated by the status LED flashing red/green/orange. After this initial set-up, the Audioserver is ready for pairing with the Miniserver. Wait until the Audioserver has completed the startup process. When starting for the first time, the file system on the SD card is unpacked, during this process the status LEDs remain off. The Audioserver starts after switching on the power supply and is ready for operation after about 1.5 minutes. The wiring examples provide a brief overview. Connect the Stereo Extensions to the Tree Turbo interface. The LAN port is used to connect the Audioserver to the local network or a WiFi router. The Miniserver is installed on a DIN rail in a suitable enclosure.Ĭonnect the power supply, the speakers and audio in/outputs as needed. The Audioserver is compatible with every type of the Loxone Miniserver. Each speaker output can be configured to output either the left or right channel signal, or a downmix of both channels. It is possible to create groups across rooms, allowing for a uniform music experience in open spaces.įor larger rooms, multiple speaker outputs are assigned to the same Audio Player function block. Using the Audio Player function block in Loxone Config, the system can be highly customized, the speaker outputs can be assigned to the individual rooms in mono or stereo mode. For larger systems, multiple Audioservers can be used. Using the Tree Turbo interface, every Audioserver can be expanded with up to 10 Stereo Extensions for additional zones or speaker outputs. An analogue audio input, an output and a digital (electrical) SPDIF output (all via 3.5mm jacks) are also integrated. The Audioserver provides two stereo speaker outputs, which can also be separated and used individually. The USB interface can be used to connect storage devices with music files. The LAN interface is used to connect to the Miniserver, and to stream radio stations or music services on the Internet, or media on the local network. The replaceable microSD card contains the operating system and settings. The doorbell, notifications and announcements as well as alarms are also enabled in this way. In combination with the Miniserver, it is possible to play different music for each room and to select from a various audio sources. The Loxone Audioserver is a highly versatile audio solution for any type of building. Note: When using more than one Audioserver, network failures may occur since firmware 2.6 due to reboots on Huawei routers. We will have a discussion of the benefits of zero decking next week when we show that operation being done. 025”, but we are going to enter “0” since we are going to zero deck, Zero decking means the piston at top dead center will be flush with the deck surface. Generally from the factory, most small block Chevy's deck heights are around. This is the space above the piston to the deck of the block. Let’s start out with a 12cc dish to see where that will put our Compression ratio. We now need to input the piston’s dish volume. We start out by inputting the chamber size of the head we will be using, in this case 64cc. We will be using Patriot Performance Freedom Series heads with 64cc combustion chambers and 185cc intake runners (about 190cc after bowl blending) When building a big cubic inch small block, it will be necessary to run a dished piston to keep the compression ratio down to our target of 9.7:1. We will likely be using a dished piston, which will effectively add combustion space to the combustion volume. Since we won’t be using domed pistons, we won’t get into too much discussion about them, only to mention that the dome would take away some of the space in the combustion chamber resulting in higher compression ratios. The combustion volume includes the cylinder head combustion chamber, and the volume of space from the top of the piston to the cylinder head deck, which also includes the volume of the head gasket bore. Compression ratio is the ratio of the volume of the cylinder (called swept volume), plus all the volume that is left once the piston is at top dead center called combustion volume, divided by the combustion volume. We now start inputting compression related information into our dyno software. This 383ci small block Chevy is being built to run on 87 octane, which with aluminum heads will limit our safe compression ratio to 9.7:1. We hope to achieve a safe compression ratio of around 13:1 running on either E-85 or 93 octane with an additive. We are looking at building another engine that will run live in our booth at the Adirondack Nationals show. We are talking with one company now, Price Chemical, that sells a nitromenthane additive. There are several octane boosters on the market that can help in a borderline situation, but we have no firm numbers on how much is needed and what compression can be run with their use. We are frequently asked if running fuel additives would allow running higher compression ratios. Since E-85 has an effective octane of about 110 we are doing research on what we can build using it, keeping in mind some other components will need to be changed to accommodate the use of alcohol. Race fuel, on the other hand, at 110 to 118 octane will allow compression ratios of 14.5 to 15:1 if tuned properly. For those running 87 octane, 8.7:1 is the most that is safe with cast iron heads, 9.7 with aluminum. Because aluminum conducts (dissipates to the cooling system) heat much faster than cast iron does, you can run 10.5:1 with aluminum heads on 93 octane. Since more compression makes more power, how much is safe? We are being told by most piston manufacturers that 9.5:1 is the most you should run in an engine with cast iron heads on 93 octane pump gas. This can be caused by too lean an air-fuel mixture, timing too advanced or compression ratio too high for the fuel being used (or too low an octane fuel for the compression ratio). Detonation is when the air-fuel mixture in a cylinder burns too rapidly or explodes rather than burning as a controlled burn. What do we want? And how do we get there? The single biggest limiting factor in building a high performance engine is detonation. The next area to input in the dyno software is compression ratio.
